I am SO excited to share Kelby Jo’s Honeymoon Island Senior Picture Session with you all!
So, if you have lived in Florida for more than 2 weeks, then you know how CRAZY unpredictable our weather can be.
It can be bright Sunny skies one minute, then a massive thundering cascade of storm clouds can scoop in out of no where, torrential downpour for 5 minutes then roll away to unearth those beautiful blue skies like nothing ever happen.
The day that we were scheduled for Kelby’s destination Honeymoon Island Senior Picture Session, the weather was taunting us. Kelby Jo had traveled all the way in from Kansas (as she and her mother do almost every summer vacation!) and the first few days of the trip did not showcase our “Sunshine State” motto. I was praying hard the day of her session for the rain to stay away and to allow Kelby to have an epic Senior session that she was hoping for. And Hallelujah! The rain stayed away long enough for Kelby Jo to ROCK her Senior Picture Session.
Though we did not have the sunny bright blue skies that we see so much here, the skies did not disappoint with showing the more moodier side of Florida’s climate for this Senior Picture Session. Kelby Jo gracefully traveled across the island with me (including staying so poised when the mosquitoes began to zone in on us!) We started at the Honeymoon Island nature trail, but when we made it over to the water, there was a new life in her eyes. Kelby, I think the water calls to you (insert Moana reference here) but, seriously!
Kelby Jo, being an amazingly talented ballet dancer for 14 years of her life, wanted to include this aspect of her life into her Senior Picture Session. When she shared her vision with me, I literally was jumping with excitement thinking about how I was going to help her bring her vision to life. And I knew that Honeymoon Island would be the perfect pristine location to dance along the shores of the Florida coast for her Senior Pictures.
Make sure to scroll all the way to bottom to see what the extra moody Florida storm sky gave us. <3
